Editorial Policy & Methodology
How we create and maintain tool, exercise, and health-related content. Last reviewed February 12, 2026.
Purpose and scope
Momentum publishes educational fitness and health content, including calculators, methodology notes, and exercise guides. Our goal is to make practical guidance understandable while being explicit about limits and uncertainty.
Who creates and reviews content
Content is created by the Momentum editorial team and reviewed by a human reviewer before publication. Automated drafting tools may help with structure or formatting, but final publication requires human approval.

Sourcing rules
- We prioritize primary and authoritative sources: government/public health agencies, major medical organizations, and peer-reviewed research.
- We use secondary sources only for context and avoid unsupported claims.
- When we provide formulas, thresholds, or ranges, we describe the method in plain language and show assumptions.
- Where helpful, we provide direct source links in each page's "Learn more" or methodology sections.
Methodology standards
- Tools: calculators show what inputs are used, how outputs are computed, and known limitations.
- Exercise content: guidance focuses on general technique education and progressive training principles.
- We distinguish estimates from measured outcomes and avoid presenting estimates as diagnoses.
Update cadence and review cycle
- We review high-impact health and nutrition pages on a recurring cadence and update sooner when standards or guidance change.
- Each page should display a "Last updated" date where applicable.
- If a material error is confirmed, we correct the page and refresh the update date.
Medical disclaimer boundaries
Momentum content is informational and educational only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use Momentum to make urgent or emergency care decisions.
If you have symptoms, chronic conditions, pregnancy-specific care needs, medication questions, or any safety concerns, consult a licensed clinician.
